Optical Illusion 1: The Face On Mars

This is a photo taken by Viking 1 in 1976. For 2 decades, conspiracy theorists claimed it showed evidence of intelligent life on Mars.

However, this latest image, taken at a far greater resolution and needing less visual enhancement seems to put paid to any such theory.
